81 pages

I'm back to work. After 3 months of break. Life as a working mum is different from a stay-at-home mum.

My daily schedule goes like this..
-Wakes up at 7am every morning, or earlier.(LeLe woke me up at 6am this morning to scratch his backside.)
-Pump my overnight milk.
-Get LeLe ready for school.
-Pack my breastfeeding equipments into my bag. (Lucky my Anya bag is huge enough)
-Hug and kiss baby meranda before unreluctantly leave her under the care of my super nanny-ayi
.......

Colleagues welcome me back, commenting that I have 恢复很好(I have slimmed down alot!) heehee..thank you!..

The office does not provide conducive environment for me to pump my milk, so i have to pump in the executive washroom ;(.... My company ayi holds the key to the washroom. And everyday, she is very 'concerned' about me and will remind me of my pumping schedule "时间到了,你还不去吸奶?!" goodness,,so embarassing....

Oh yes, I have a new AngMo boss...He seems nice anyway....until yesterday! He gave me the task to proof-read a 81 pages English report on real estate market and economic situation,...81 pages!!! Supposed to finish in 1 day! Walau eh...I'm not a superwoman..

The report is directly translated from a Chinese report by a local translation company. The 'Chinglish' direct translation really makes me laugh..

"烂尾楼"基本得到了消化=> Unfurnished buildings have been digested
(Digested?? U mean buildings are cookies?Should be 'refurbished')

非感空调阶段 => No-feeling Airconditioning phase
Errr...

*sigh* still have 3more hours to finish the report..got to go!

Boring mummy?

My old friend, Ms X once introduced to me her colleague, Ms B who is also based in BJ. I met up with Ms B, and she told Ms X that I am not the ‘party animal’ type and am very motherly. Ms X was shocked,”Are u sure u are talking about Veron?! “
Ms X cannot believe that the Once-happening Veron has now turned into a boring/desperate housewife, since uprooted to Beijing?
So has motherhood changed me?

Yes
1) No more Saturday night fevers. Instead of hanging around pub, I enjoy my weekends playing with my 2 kids, and of cos, my hubby.
2) No more heels on weekends. Weekend shoes are limited to flats and sneakers. I can’t possibly carry a 15kg kid in heels.
3) No more cleavage-revealing tops and slinky dresses. As my figure has grow horizontally, I do not need those to highlight my flaws..
4) No more sotong queen. Now with 2 kids, I need to pay more attention to details such as when to milk them, when to go for next vaccination, hygiene etc
(p/s/ although I’m a bit more organized now, my memory still has not improved.I still need ginko nuts)
5) No more wake up from bed late. My biological clock rings at 7:30am. Everyday.

No
1) I still need my night-outs with girlfriends. Not pubs hang-out, but rather dining out gossiping about the latest trends, friends etc etc.
2) I still dress up. Once a taxi-driver commented that Singaporean ladies turn Aunties once they have children. Halo! It is definitely not true…at least not me. Just that I have revamped my wardrobe to timeless pieces that can last for lifetime.
3) I still shop. I have a natural weakness towards dresses, feminine tops , accessories, shoes etc.. The latest addition to my weakness collection is BAG.
4) I still read gossip and fashion magazines. Instead of chalking up on parenthood books like “ The First year”, I prefer trashy chick-lit and cosmopolitan magazines..

Conclusion: motherhood has changed me in certain ways..At least, it is for the better.

Old friends

I was clearing some of my files in my laptop , when I chanced upon some photos of my old friends back home.

Old friends know all craps about you and still love you.
Old friends will tell you that you have a jerky boyfriend, thou you are blindly in love.
Old friends stand by you when you get dumped by idiots.
Old friends tell you that you look ugly in that dress, although it is the latest trend.
Old friends have lots to share with you, even though you have not get in touch for months, or worse, years.

I’m glad I have such old friends with memorable times shared together. Let the pictures speak for themselves

Back from New York

My darling returned from New York on Sunday. He has been away for more than 1 week. Both babies and I miss him a lot, especially lele who had not been feeling well for the past few days. He even picked up the phone, and wanted to ‘call’ daddy.

He came back with a luggage full of new goodies…Kenneth Cole shoes/Jacket, BOSS jeans, books for LeLe, jumper for Meranda and Georgine etc etc.

And….he bought me a KateSpade bag! Yippie! Yellow makes me happy. He also bought my mum a KateSpade wallet, to show his appreciation for her Tender Loving Care during the past month.

This is my 3rd bag for this year. My first is a COACH, which hubby bought at Miami..Followed by Anya Hindmarch. It was a steal during the summer sale, just 1 month before I popped. I always love Anya bags for its classic design, however they are priced above my budget. So when there is 50% sale, who can resist?

No more bags for this year, till next year visiting Chez and Cillian at California.

Fitness Blast!

I piled up 12kg during pregnancy. Thanks to Meranda’s heavy weight during birth and breastfeeding, I managed to shed off 7 kg in the first month.

Determined to gain back my pre-pregnancy figure, I signed up for personal gym training 3 weeks ago. To motivate myself to train harder, I even bought a new pair of NIKE running shoes.

My instructor is really a 魔鬼教练。 He will pester me to hit the gym everyday, alternating between 1.5hr of toning/machine exercise, and 40 minutes of cardio. When I skip 2 days, he sent me a sms “为什么这么多天没有来上课,你要有效果,就不可以休息太久!” urgh…

Here are some other small details to lose weight:
1) During mealtime, finish up your soup before you start your dishes.
1) Have fruits before meal, not after.
2) Breastfeeding. It is beneficial for mummy and baby
3) Cut down on Carbo, especially during dinner time
4) Drink only black coffee, without creamer/sugar
5) Drink tons of water
6) Do not eat anything 4 hours before sleep
7) Banish all sweet stuff, such as cakes, ice-cream..

A girlfriend once told me that once a woman give birth, it is impossible to kill off that disgusting flabby tummy. However, look at Madonna! Doesn’t she look great even at 40s? After 3 weeks of panting and sweating, I managed to shed off a few centimeters at my waistline and hips. Determination is the way towards a toned figure and healthy lifestyle.

Any more ideas to lose weight? Let’s share…
